Q: Can I use my laptop?
A: During moderated debate, delegates are asked to refrain from using their laptops. As such, we suggest bringing printed copies of research and position papers. During unmoderated debates, delegates can use their computers to draft working papers.
Q: Will there be awards?
A: Yes! Delegates will be eligible for awards if they submit a position paper by the due date.
There will be awards for Best Position Paper, Most Diplomatic Delegate, Outstanding Delegate, and the Best Delegate. Above all, we emphasize that the greatest rewards are the experience itself, the friends you make, and the insight you gain into the complexities of our world.
Award criteria: Awards are intended to recognize students who embrace the spirit of cooperation and diplomacy, demonstrate strong listening skills, exhibit and utilize research skills and grasp of the topic, contribute to the committee resolutions, deliver effective speeches, and overall make a positive contribution to the committee.
Q: Can I use AI for my position paper, speeches, or resolution paper?
A: VicMUN does not permit any use of AI in any capacity. This includes but is not limited to position papers, speeches, or resolution papers. If delegates are found to have used AI they will be ineligible to receive awards and teacher sponsors will be notified
