The University of Victoria’s motto, Multitudo sapientium sanitas orbis, “A multitude of the wise is the health of the world”, captures the spirit of what we aim to create at VicMUN. We believe that by engaging critically with global issues at the conference, delegates do not only simulate solutions, but participate in shaping a wiser and healthier world. Through meaningful debate, collaboration, and creativity, VicMUN empowers students to be part of the solution beyond the committee room.

The theme of this year's conference will be Threats to the International Order.

Recent events have displayed various changes and potential threats to the international world order. During this time, it is increasingly important that we students educate ourselves and create space to engage with these issues. This serves as the inspiration for this year's theme and reflects the sentiments of the UVic motto.

Dear Delegates,

On behalf of the University of Victoria Model United Nations Club, it is my great honour and privilege to welcome you all to the third iteration of Victoria Model United Nations (VicMUN). We are thrilled to invite you to UVic’s campus on February 28th.

The University of Victoria Model UN Club was refounded after the Covid-19 Pandemic in 2023 by a small group of university students committed to international diplomacy and debate. That year, they hosted the very first iteration of VicMUN. Since then, the club has grown to over 50 members, and VicMUN has grown from a small conference to one hosting over 120 delegates.

The theme of VicMUN 2026 is Threats to the International Order. In keeping with this focus, delegates will engage with issues that challenge global trust, humanitarian norms, and the fragile balance of international peace. To solve these issues, delegates will need to be creative, collaborative, and empathetic in their debates and negotiations.

Outside of committees, VicMUN 2026 is an opportunity for delegates to forge friendships, develop skills, and grow their appreciation for international diplomacy. Several former VicMUN delegates are now in our club helping to recreate the VicMUN experience that kept them invested in Model UN beyond graduation.

We encourage you to explore our website to learn more about our committees, conference policies, key dates, and registration details.

We look forward to witnessing the energy and ingenuity you will no doubt bring to VicMUN 2026!

THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS
